 True, but it did not work well. It was greatly enhanced last April,
 probably deemed mature enough to become the default.

 You are right, I missed that. And adding {{{-c gif}}} does not fix it. It
 seems that the works on animated GIF has completely broken support for GIF
 as individual images.

 The output of mediainfo has rarely been any use for anything.
