Please understand that it is not (and has never been).

You don't know (or completely misunderstand) our development process: No
code is (ever) committed that we believe isn't fit to release, releases
are snapshots for distributions that by definition contain more bugs and
less features than current FFmpeg and except for security fixes see no
further care at all. (This was never different as far as I remember and is
not different in projects that are being compared, no matter what they
tell you.)
